BigBang wins 'Best Artist From the World' title in Italy

South Korea's five-member boy band BigBang has been awarded the title of "Best Artist From the World" at a music awards ceremony hosted by an Italian cable TV channel, the group's management agency, YG Entertainment, said Monday.

BigBang was the only Korean to win a prize at the 2016 Italian MTV Awards in Florence, the agency said.

Other fellow winners include Italian artists like Negramaro and The Kolors as well as global stars such as Avril Lavigne, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and One Direction.

On his personal social media account, G-Dragon, a BigBang member, wrote a thank-you message to the fan club, VIP. "BigBang Made", a project album marking the group's 10-th anniversary, will be released on June 30 to mark their 10-year anniversary.
