South Korea will build 200 hybrid charging stations as part of efforts to strengthen its infrastructure for hydrogen-fueled, electric, LPG (liquid petroleum gas) and other eco-friendly vehicles, officials said.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, details will come on Friday during a policy-setting conference on how to actualize "hydrogen-economic society", a joint project involving parliament and government agencies.

While the United States, Japan and China have led the eco-friendly vehicle market, South Korea came late in commercializing related technologies. Government officials think South Korea should not slip a chance to establish a nationwide network of charging stations and infrastructure for eco-friendly vehicles.
