The Hofburg Imperial Palace was the winter residence of the Habsburg dynasty rulers and their families since the 13th century. It is currently used as the official residence and office of the President of Austria. It also houses the congress center and meeting rooms. Hofburg National Library is considered one of the most beautiful libraries in the world.
The palace was designed and re-engineered by many different architects predominantly from Italy. The Baroque palace is a unique masterpiece that has been well-preserved.
Hofburg consists of many different wings for different uses and is the epitome of Habsburg dynasty power and wealth.
There are many different exhibitions and museums within the complex to check out. The most popular ones are Silver Collection, Sisi Museum, and Imperial Apartments. Silver Collection exhibits different styles of kitchenware, silverware, ritualistic ceramics, and platters that Austrian royals used.
Sisi Museum is dedicated to the life of Empress Elizabeth or fondly known as Empress Sisi, the wife of Emperor Franz Joseph, the longest reigned ruler in Austria.
