If you are visiting Vienna, Austria this summer, look no further. Glacis Beisl is a great Austrian restaurant that is loved by locals.
It is located off of Breite Gasse that is not far from Mariahilfer Strasse, a popular shopping street that is not so flooded with tourists. If you want to feel more of local fares, you can visit this street and dine at Glacis Beisl.
It may be a bit hard to find, but it is worth the effort with its great Austrian fare.
The must-try dishes are Viennese Schnitzel, thinly sliced and fried veal, and Tafelspitz mit Apfelkren und Rosti, boiled beef with apple-horseradish sauce and hash brown. Tafelspitz is famous as Emperor Franz Joseph's favorite dish.
Glacis Beisl would be a good starting restaurant to begin your experience in Austrian cuisine.
