"We hope the range of communication between BLACKPINK members and their fandom Blink expand through Weverse," YG Entertainment said in a statement on July 14. The four-member girl band will open its social media channel in Weverse on August 2. YG and Hybe forged a partnership in January to collaborate in marketing and other promotions. BLACKPINK is the third YG band to enter Weverse after iKON and Treasure.
Weverse was launched in 2019 to offer global music fans virtual spaces for socializing and communicating with their idols. The social media app is home to about 24 artists and bands including BTS, iKON, and Seventeen.
