SEOUL, January 26 (AJP) - BTS member Jin extended heartfelt Lunar New Year's greetings to fans on Saturday through the online fan community platform Weverse. The 32-year-old singer also announced the release of "Close to You," an original soundtrack (OST) for the tvN drama "When the Stars Gossip," starring Gong Hyo-jin and Lee Min-ho, set to drop on Sunday.

In his Weverse post released Saturday, Jin wrote, "Hello everyone, this is Jin. How have you all been? I was thinking about what kind of New Year greeting to give you, but I missed the timing, so I haven’t been able to visit you often. Wishing you all a Happy New Year! May this year be filled with even better things and bring you wealth. Happy New Year, everyone!"

Fans responded enthusiastically, with over 10,000 replies sharing their well-wishes for Jin in 2025. BTS, currently on hiatus as members fulfill their mandatory military service, is expected to reunite as a full group by mid-2025. Jin, who joined the Army in December 2022, was discharged in June 2024.

While awaiting BTS' full comeback, Jin is releasing his second solo OST, "Close to You," at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, according to his agency, Big Hit Music. This follows his first OST contribution, "Yours," for the tvN drama "Jirisan" in 2021.

"Close to You" portrays a journey through the vast universe to reach a loved one. Jin delivers a message of love and hope, accompanied by instrumental melodies that evoke a sense of space and depth. Fans are eagerly anticipating the track, which continues to showcase Jin's distinctive vocal talent and emotional resonance.
