S-Oil launches cooling solution for data centers

SEOUL, October 29 (AJP) - South Korean oil refiner S-Oil Corp. announced Tuesday the launch of a high flash point immersion cooling fluid for use in data centers.

The new product, named e-Cooling Solution, has completed verification testing with servers from leading global manufacturers. It is aimed at markets in South Korea and Japan, where strict safety regulations apply.

Immersion cooling technology significantly reduces energy consumption compared to traditional air cooling methods and addresses issues related to heat generation, dust and moisture in server hardware.

“The newly launched immersion cooling fluid can be applied not only in data centers but also in emerging industries such as electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems,” an S-Oil official stated.
