SEOUL, September 19 (AJP) - Korean oil refiner S-Oil Corp. has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with low cost carrier T'way Air to supply sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and collaborate on joint marketing initiatives, the companies announced on Thursday.

Under the agreement, S-Oil will provide SAF for T'way Air's commercial flights to Japan starting this month, with plans to expand supply for future routes. The partnership aims to promote sustainable growth in both the refining and aviation sectors.

"Through this collaboration with T'way Air on SAF and co-marketing, we are actively working towards sustainable growth in the oil refining and aviation industries," an S-Oil representative said.

S-Oil, which began producing SAF earlier this year using bio-feedstocks like used cooking oil, obtained international certification ISCC CORSIA for its product in April. The company has been a leading company in the Korean market of SAF production, certification, and supply.

The agreement follows previous marketing collaborations between the two companies, including membership promotions and joint video content featuring S-Oil's mascot visiting European cities served by T'way Air.
