SEOUL, November 5 (AJP) - A special prayer meeting will take place in a village in southern India for Kamala Harris, the Democratic Vice President and U.S. presidential candidate.

According to news reports on Monday, a prayer meeting will be held in Thulasendrapuram village in Tamil Nadu to wish for Harris's victory, where her maternal ancestors once lived.

The residents plan to hold the prayer meeting at a Hindu temple in the village.

The temple in the village displays plaques of donors' names, including Harris and her grandfather, P.V. Gopalan. Gopalan, was born in this village, belonged to the Brahmin caste, the highest in India’s caste system, and moved to Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, where he worked as a senior government official until his retirement.

The Brahmin caste is regarded as the most prestigious class in India’s traditional caste system, historically holding roles as priests, scholars, and teachers.
