SEOUL, August 5 (AJU PRESS) - Krafton, the company behind the popular battle royale game "PUBG: Battlegrounds," launched a pop-up store, called PUBG Seongsu, in Seoul's trendy Seongsu-dong last Thursday.
The store, open from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays through Sundays until August 18, features a jungle-themed space inspired by the game's Sanhok map.
Visitors can experience various activities, including a surfing simulation, arcade games based on in-game items, and a photo zone for memorable shots.
“The Fry Pong (ping-pong with frying pans) was fun to play together,” a foreign traveler said. With 300 hours invested in PUBG, the regular player stumbled upon the pop-up store while walking along the street and decided to visit.
The pop-up store is part of a larger initiative running until late October, featuring different themes such as an art exhibition utilizing PUBG intellectual property and collaborations with various brands. Visitors can make reservations through Naver or visit at their convenience.
Krafton has incorporated elements of the game into real-world activities at the store. Visitors who complete a stamp mission available onsite will receive PUBG merchandise, including a survivor passport, a hand fan, a sticker pack and a key chain.
The arcade zone offers games inspired by in-game items such as flare guns, frying pans, and apples, allowing PUBG fans to engage with familiar game elements.
Following the "Summer Vibes" theme, the pop-up store will transition to "Urban Canvas" from Sept. 19 to Oct. 6. This phase will showcase PUBG-inspired artworks, including collaborations with artists, pieces commemorating PUBG's 7th anniversary, webtoons, and fan-created art.
Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a custom workshop, coloring PUBG 'Lone Survivor' figurines.
