K-pop band Super Junior's Leeteuk receives surgery for acute gallbladder inflammation

SEOUL -- K-pop band Super Junior leader Leeteuk had a surgery for an acute cholecystitis, an inflammation of the gallbladder, the singer's agency said.

SM Entertainment said in a statement on Tuesday that the 35-year-old was diagnosed with cholecystitis when he visited a hospital Tuesday for sharp pains in his stomach. On recommendations from doctors, Leeteuk will skip a concert in Japan this week, the agency said.
