South Korea to make largest-ever presence at CES

SEOUL, January 03 (AJP) - South Korean companies are set to make their largest-ever appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next week, unveiling their latest advancements in artificial intelligence, smart home technology and other innovations.

With 1,031 companies participating, South Korea will have the third-largest national presence at the event, following the United States (1,509) and China (1,339).

The world's largest electronics trade show will be held in Las Vegas from Jan. 7-10.

Samsung Electronics will command the show's largest exhibition space, spanning 3,368 square meters. Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee will present the company's "AI for All" strategy. 

Samsung’s showcase will focus on its new Bespoke appliances, featuring 9-inch touchscreens integrated with the SmartThings platform, which now boasts 350 million users. 

The company will also highlight semiconductor innovations, including the 12nm LPDDR5X memory and the industry's first 3nm wearable processor, the Exynos W1000.

LG Electronics will unveil its "Affectionate Intelligence" vision, led by CEO Cho Joo-wan, alongside its new Mobility Experience (MX) Platform developed in collaboration with Qualcomm. 

The company will present its AI-powered ThinQ ON home hub, mobile AI solutions, and premium LG Signature appliances. 

Additionally, LG will showcase next-generation gaming technology, including monitors with 5K2K resolution (5,120x2,160) and bendable display capabilities.

Hyundai Mobis, an auto parts maker, plans to demonstrate three key technologies: a holographic windshield display, a human-centric interior lighting system, and the M.Brain driver monitoring system, which uses brainwave detection.

SK Group will highlight its AI infrastructure capabilities, showcasing data center solutions and SK hynix's cutting-edge HBM3E 16-stack memory. 

The company will also present SKC's innovative glass substrate technology. Chairman Choi Tae-won will make his third consecutive CES appearance to strengthen AI ecosystem partnerships.

The Korean national pavilion, organized by KOTRA and the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, will feature 445 companies. 

The exhibits will focus on home appliances (18 percent), digital health (17 percent), artificial intelligence (16 percent), and smart home technology (12 percent).

Additionally, 20 Korean companies will participate in the K-Innovation Pitching Challenge, presenting their ideas to global corporations such as Walmart, JB Hunt, and IBM.
