Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. named Kim Oi-hyun, head of Shipbuilding operation, as its new co-CEO on Friday, for the seat from which former CEO Min Kye-sik will retire after finishing his term. It has already-named another CEO, Lee- Jae-sung.Hyundai Heavy Industries has opened general shareholder meeting at Hanmaum Hoikwan(town center) in Ulsan, South Korea and finalized and got approval its nomination of new co-CEO and other new senior promotion including Cho won-kil, CEO of Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, promoted to an board of director.
He has been taking a position of the operation head of shipbuilding since December 2009 after had been experiencing various sectors of ship design, laboratory and ship business planning starting 1975 when he entered the company after school.
He graduated Seoul National University with a major of marine engineering B.S. after Kyungbook high school.
New CEO Kim will share his position with anther CEO Lee Jae-seong.
