As Ebola death rate soaring, WHO warns the Ebola cases may rise up to 10,000 per week

Ebola has infected over 8,4000 people and more than 4,000 people have been killed. Though outside of the Liberia where the disease is originated, There have been only 16 cases but 3 cases out of 16 were infected outside of West Africa. World Health Organization announced a warning Tuesday that there could be more than 10,000 Ebola cases per week in next 2 months. Currently there have been 1,000 cases per week.

There has been another death outside of Liberia. In Germany, a 53-year-old UN medical worker who was in Liberia died Tuesday (UTC) at St. Georg Hospital. He was diagnosed with Ebola on October 6 and was submitted for treatment on 9th.

This is the third Ebola case in Germany. One of three survived the disease and the Ugandan man is still getting treated in Frankfurt.

In US, there have been 7 cases, Thomas Duncan is the only fatal case. 3 survived and 3 other patients in Nebraska, Georgia, and Texas are in treatment. The Dallas nurse, Nina Pham (26), who was infected from caring for Duncan received a blood transfusion from a physician who survived Ebola and her condition is reportedly stable now.

In Europe excluding Germany, there have been 6 cases-1 in Norway, 1 in England, 1 in France, 3 in Spain. The patients in England and France recovered, and the infected female patients in Norway and Spain are still getting treated. Other 2 patients in Spain were killed by the disease.
