Hyundai Rotem said it has signed a contract with the transportation authority of Sao Paulo, under which it will supply 240 rail cars worth 450 billion won to the local Brazilian government.
The company said it plans to jointly manufacture the rail cars with Brazilian companies.
Hyundai Rotem made inroads into the Brazilian market in November 2003 by selling 24 rail cars to Salvador City. Since then, the company has sold 518 rail cars worth 900 billion won to three Brazilian cities.
