SISTAR, a popular girl group, topped major South Korean music charts with the goodbye song "LONELY" only six hours after it was released. The group will disband later this month.

LONELY quickly rose to the top of Melon, Naver and Genie in an unusually quick speed, beating strong contenders such as IU, PSY and TWICE.

Despite a successful seven-year run, the girls have decided to pursue their own careers while staying with their agency, Starship Entertainment. Hyorin and Soyu are expected to act as musicians while Bora and Dasom hope to become actresses.

Since its debut in 2010 with a single "PUSH PUSH", SISTAR has become one of South Korea's most loved sexy divas with pop-dance hit songs -- "SO COOL", "SHAKE IT" and "MY BOY".
