SEOUL -- Popular K-pop artists will perform in an online concert to be broadcast through TikTok, a social media service based in China.

TikTok said Wednesday that some 10 K-pop acts including brother-sister duo AKMU, singer Kang Daniel and boy band MONSTA X will participate in "TIKTOK STAGE LIVE FROM SEOUL," an online concert, at 5:00 p.m. (0800 GMT) on May 25.

The online concert will be broadcast worldwide for free. Fans can make donations to Community Chest Korea, a nonprofit organization, during the concert.

Because of the global COVID-19 pandemic, many K-pop bands have suspended or canceled world concert tours that were to be held this year. After indefinitely suspending this year's world concert tour schedule in April, BTS has organized a 90-minute online live concert in June.
