SEOUL -- XPLA, a blockchain mainnet built by South Korea's game development and publishing company Com2uS and partners, has forged a strategic partnership with Xterio, a blockchain gaming company based in Switzerland, to expand its Web 3.0 ecosystem. The partnership came after Xterio raised $40 million in a funding round led by investors including XPLA.

Xterio, a cross-platform publisher and developer of high-quality mobile and web3 games, will release new Web3 games through XPLA, which operates as a gaming platform, bridges the gap between Web2 and Web3 in the game industry, and provides developers with design and technical support. Xterio is a partner of FunPlus, the developer of popular mobile games.

Com2uS Holdings said that XPLA would continue to introduce large IP-based games in Web3 versions. "XPLA will keep expanding its ecosystem through continuous partnerships that can strengthen its digital media content portfolio such as culture, art and games," XPLA leader Paul Kim said in a statement on September 29.

Com2uS is trying to secure a global position in the field of Web3, which is a new iteration of the blockchain-based World Wide Web that incorporates concepts including decentralization and token-based economics. Web3 could improve data security, scalability, and privacy beyond what is currently possible with Web2 platforms that center on user-created content uploaded to social media and networking services, blogs, and wikis, among other services.

C2X is a blockchain gaming platform striving to create an ultimate non-fungible fund (NFT) gaming experience. Com2uS aims to lead Web3 games and upgrade its C2X blockchain platform that allows users to enjoy various Web3 games and participate in decisions necessary for ecosystem circulation through voting.
