Pucará Bull is an art piece created in a town located in the Andes Mountains. To strengthen diplomatic relations with foreign nations and attract tourists, the Peruvian government has held the Pucará Bull exhibition in 22 cities including Tokyo, Berlin, and Montreal.
"Pucará Bulls will be displayed at Seoul City Hall with Haechi since they have in common in terms of representing security and good fortune," the Peruvian Embassy's secretary Serena Jang told Aju Korea Daily on November 7. The 17-day exhibition will begin at 2 p.m. (0500 GMT) on November 8. Anyone can visit the event for free.
"I hope this event will become an opportunity for visitors to explore and understand Peruvian culture and art through the symbolic treasure that represents the country," said Na Hyeong-seon, the head of Seoul City's International Development Cooperation Task Force.
Data released by KOTRA, a state-run trade promotion agency, showed that South Korea's primary exports to Peru were passenger cars, which recorded $186 million in 2022, up 88.2 percent year-on-year. South Korea's main import items from Peru include copper, natural gases, minerals, and agricultural products. The two nations' Free Trade Agreement (FTA) took effect in 2010.
