Hyundai Mobis announced on Sunday that it will lead system development and supply automotive projectors, while Zeiss will provide holographic films less than 0.1 mm thick.
The two companies have already developed a prototype and demonstrated it to domestic automakers last month, Hyundai Mobis said.
Zeiss is a key optical equipment supplier to the Netherlands' semiconductor lithography equipment maker ASML.
"We plan to expand our technological cooperation to various fields, such as holographic displays for vehicle interiors and exteriors and 3D rear lamps," said Jung Soo-kyung, executive vice president and head of the automotive electronics business unit at Hyundai Mobis.
