"Led by President Gustavo Petro, Columbia is committed to embracing racial and ethnic diversity," said Colombian Ambassador to Seoul Alejandro Pelaez Rodriguez at a promotional event for the exhibition on Thursday. "Through this exhibition which reflects the country's cultural diversity, we want to share Colombia's rich culture and history."

One of the highlights is a project called "El Beat" by Sergio Bromberg, which tells the story of an enslaved African in the 16th century who founded Palenque de San Basilio, the first free Africa town in the Americas, which was recognized by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2005.

"I've worked extensively to offer more immersive experiences in creating documentaries through virtual reality," Bromberg said.

"Colombia's cultural diversity is something we take great pride in. The mixture of different backgrounds and indigenous influences makes Colombian identity truly unique. I hope these elements are effectively conveyed through the works displayed."

He also expressed interest in many other collaborative projects with Korea, sharing plans to organize music concerts featuring Colombian artists here.

The exhibition runs until January next year.
