SEOUL, December 2 (AJP) - The annual Korea-Latin America Business Forum was held in central Seoul on Monday, bringing together government officials, diplomats, and industry experts to discuss key economic and environmental issues in Latin America.

Also among the attendees were President of the Korean Council on Latin America and the Caribbean (KCLAC) Han Byung-kil, Deputy Trade Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) Park Jong-won, Executive Director of Emerging Economy Studies at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) Kwak Sung-il, as well as ambassadors from Latin American countries including Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Seoul Federico Alberto Cuello Camilo.

Discussions focused on the impact of shifting economic and environmental policies in Latin America under the upcoming Trump administration, as well as China's growing influence in the region. Participants examined strategies to address China's expansion and reviewed South Korea's initiatives in areas such as mineral resources, social overhead capital, and official development assistance.

Launched 28 years ago, the forum was co-hosted by the Korea-Latin America & Caribbean Association (KCLAC), KIEP, and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), with MOTIE's support. It serves as a key platform for strengthening economic ties between South Korea and Latin America.
