[CES 2025] Samkoo INC chairman emphasizes people-centric corporate culture

LAS VEGAS, January 7 (AJP) - Koo Ja-kwan, chairman of the Korean consignment management company Samkoo INC, underscored the importance of a people-centric corporate culture in driving innovation during an interview with Aju Business Daily at CES 2025.

Koo, who received the first Aju Innovation Leader Grand Award on Tuesday, attributed the recognition to the company's sustainable management practices and its innovative endeavors.

"Creating an environment where employees can exercise creativity and responsibility has been key to our success," Koo said.

Samkoo INC, one of South Korea's largest facility management outsourcing companies, has expanded beyond its traditional cleaning services base into new industries, including semiconductors and batteries. The company reported consolidated revenue of 2.3 trillion won ($1.58 billion) in 2023, a nearly 16-fold increase from 150 billion won in 2009.

"These challenges seemed unrelated to our existing business, but we succeeded through continuous learning and understanding of new industries," Koo said.

At this year's CES, Koo emphasized the company's focus on the convergence of eco-friendly energy solutions and smart technologies.

"These technological trends will contribute to strengthening Samkoo INC's global competitiveness," he said. "Sharing these experiences with employees to broaden their perspectives is crucial."

Koo highlighted the company's low employee turnover rate as evidence of its commitment to providing growth opportunities and maintaining a people-focused environment.

"By strengthening environmental protection, social responsibility, and transparent governance, we are setting an example for the industry," Koo said. "These ESG management efforts have enhanced corporate credibility and created long-term value."

Koo added that the company's focus on sustainability has positioned it as an industry role model.

"Our ultimate goal is to establish ourselves as a leading global enterprise through sustainable innovation," he said.
