North Korea on Friday unveiled postal stamps, slated for release on Jan. 20, featuring young North Korean athletes who participated in last year's Under-17 and Under-20 Women's World Cup events, as well as the Asian Table Tennis Championships.
"It is uncertain, but such almanac stamps have customarily included descriptions in English and Chinese," an official from the Ministry of Unification here said. "It now appears that Russian language has been newly added."
It seems that North Korea has prioritized its relations with Russia amid a rift with its traditional ally China, since the signing of a military pact during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Pyongyang in June last year.
