Woo’s official invitations to Trump’s inaugurations highlight his influential role in fostering private economic exchanges between South Korea and the United States.
Woo, who serves as an advisor to the Korea-U.S. Alliance Friendship Association, attended Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, as he did in 2017, and engaged with key economic and political figures in Washington, D.C.
Following the ceremony, Woo and World Taekwondo Headquarters President Lee Dong-sup met with U.S. lawmakers and economic leaders to discuss expanding business exchanges between the two countries.
During the visit, Woo participated in various events, including laying a wreath at the Korean War Veterans Memorial, meeting with Korean Embassy officials, and holding discussions with members of the Korean American community.
Woo was formally invited to Trump’s first inauguration in 2017, reportedly at Trump’s direct request.
