LG Group is accelerating discussions on next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) collaboration with NVIDIA. Following a meeting between Koo Kwang-mo, Chairman of LG Group, and Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, the companies are moving into a phase of solidifying cooperation in physical AI and robotics.
According to industry sources, executives from LG's major affiliates will visit NVIDIA's headquarters in Santa Clara, California, on June 22. They plan to meet with NVIDIA executives to discuss business collaboration in the areas of physical AI, robotics, and AI infrastructure.
The delegation will include over 30 executives and staff from key affiliates such as LG Electronics, LG Innotek, LG CNS, and the LG AI Research Institute. Both sides are expected to focus on identifying viable collaboration areas through technical sessions and discussions on specific projects.
Previously, Koo and Huang met on June 8 at LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, where they discussed long-term cooperation strategies across the AI ecosystem, including physical AI, AI infrastructure, and future mobility. This visit comes just two weeks after their initial executive meeting.
Industry observers note that with NVIDIA providing the AI platform and LG possessing capabilities in home appliances, robotics, automotive electronics, smart homes, and data center infrastructure, there is potential for their collaboration to lead to practical applications of physical AI in products and industrial settings.
LG aims to combine NVIDIA's AI platform with its manufacturing, automotive, robotics, and smart space capabilities to build a next-generation AI ecosystem. The 'One LG' approach, which integrates the group's strengths, is also expected to be a key topic of discussion.
An industry insider stated, "NVIDIA has the GPU and AI solutions, while LG has the manufacturing and infrastructure capabilities to implement these in everyday life and industrial settings. Together, they could become key partners in the expansion of physical AI."
