SEOUL, September 8 (AJP) - Hyundai Motor will launch its educational initiative in France for the first time in Europe, the automaker said Tuesday, as part of its efforts to help young people learn about emerging mobility technologies and changes in the automotive industry.

It signed an agreement with the Korean Education Center in Paris the previous day to launch its "future mobility school (FMS)" program.

The program, which helps teenagers learn about the latest automotive technologies through hands-on activities, is expected to strengthen educational exchanges between South Korea and France as the two countries mark the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.

Hyundai has run the program since 2016 and expanded it overseas in 2023 including to Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia and Malaysia. More than 110,000 students at over 2,700 schools worldwide had completed the program by the end of last year.

Hyundai said it will work with the center to offer lessons tailored to French schools and students, covering emerging technologies and industry trends including electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered vehicles and self-driving cars, while helping students explore career paths in the future mobility sector.

For the first time, Korean-language materials will also be used in the program overseas, alongside lessons on various aspects of Korean culture, in response to the growing global interest in and demand for Korean culture.

For the first time, the program will also use Korean-language materials overseas, along with lessons on Korean culture.

"We are taking a meaningful first step toward bringing the program to Europe, and we hope it will help French students better understand emerging technologies and future industries," a Hyundai spokesman said.
