The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) is stepping up efforts to support domestic green technology companies in securing overseas projects in response to global supply chain restructuring and energy transition demands.

On September 16, KOTRA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, is hosting the 'Climate, Energy, and Environmental Industry Export Consultation Meeting' in conjunction with the Busan Climate Industry International Expo (WCE).

This consultation meeting, supported by the Korea Energy Agency, BEXCO, and the Korea Meteorological Industry Technology Institute, aims to assist K-Green Tech companies in expanding internationally amid supply chain shifts due to geopolitical risks and the global energy transition trend.

KOTRA has invited 30 promising buyers and procurement agencies from 10 countries in Europe and Asia, including Vietnam, Serbia, and Algeria. A total of 77 domestic K-Green Tech companies will engage in over 200 one-on-one business consultations, resulting in two memorandums of understanding (MOUs) in the field of ion exchange resin for nuclear power water quality management.

T, a renewable energy developer and operator from Vietnam, is attending to source energy storage systems (ESS) and energy efficiency technologies for a 1.5 GW project. Officials from Hanoi's Department of Industry and Trade are also participating to explore partnerships for national projects and discuss industrial exchanges between Busan and Hanoi.

Serbia's state-owned shipping company J is seeking to introduce water treatment and renewable energy technologies, while Algeria's state-owned cement company G is looking to discover carbon reduction technologies.

Kang Kyung-seong, president of KOTRA, stated, "As the demand for green transition grows in major countries, the competitiveness of K-power and green tech companies is being highly evaluated. We will strengthen follow-up support for the demand identified in this consultation meeting to enhance overseas expansion outcomes."
