Hana Bank announced on October 8 that it has incinerated 134.3 billion won in long-term delinquent loans to support the credit recovery and economic resurgence of financially vulnerable groups.

This incineration targeted long-term delinquent loans that had been classified as special bonds for over five years. The primary beneficiaries include economically disadvantaged groups such as young people and the elderly.

A total of 5,738 individuals and 9,215 accounts had their debt burdens, including principal and interest, eliminated, amounting to 134.3 billion won.

Earlier in June, Hana Bank had also incinerated 221.8 billion won in long-term delinquent loans for 5,225 individuals across 15,105 accounts. With this latest action, the total amount incinerated this year reaches 356.1 billion won, benefiting a cumulative total of 10,963 individuals.

A Hana Bank official stated, "We hope that this incineration of long-term delinquent loans will provide hope for young people and the elderly, who have weak foundations for self-reliance, to rise again. We will continue to expand inclusive support that can provide practical help to financially vulnerable groups."

Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group is implementing inclusive finance policies this year focused on alleviating financial polarization, supporting financial independence, and expanding inclusive infrastructure for vulnerable groups and small businesses.
