Nongshim is set to reintroduce 'Bokkeum Neoguri,' which was discontinued in 2024, following numerous requests from consumers.

According to Nongshim on October 14, the company will sell limited quantities of Bokkeum Neoguri bag noodles and cup noodles through various online and offline distribution channels starting on the 27th. The sales period is expected to last about a month, with no decision yet on whether it will be sold regularly thereafter.

Bokkeum Neoguri, launched in February 2017, features thick, chewy noodles with a savory seafood flavor and spiciness. It gained popularity, selling 10 million units within a month of its release, but domestic sales were halted in 2024.

Despite its discontinuation, consumer demand for a relaunch persisted. An account named 'Bokkeum Neoguri Revival Campaign Headquarters' appeared on social media, urging the product's return. This account organized an unofficial petition among consumers and delivered the collected signatures to Nongshim.

Activities to share information about overseas purchasing options also continued. The account introduced local retailers, such as Lotte Mart in Da Nang, Vietnam, to help consumers find the discontinued product. Additionally, reviews of exported Bokkeum Neoguri and cooking methods to recreate its flavor using existing Neoguri noodles were shared on social media.

Nongshim reported that Bokkeum Neoguri accounted for the largest share of requests for the relaunch of discontinued products over the past two years. At the 'Shin Ramyeon Snack' antenna shop in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, exported Bokkeum Neoguri was also the top-selling item.

The relaunched product maintains the original thick, chewy noodles while enhancing the seafood flavors with mussels and squid. The cup noodles will feature a new microwave cooking method.

Before the official sale, Nongshim began pre-orders on its official online store, 'Nongshim Mall,' starting today. The pre-order package consists of 16 bags of Bokkeum Neoguri and is limited to 3,000 units. As of the afternoon of the 14th, the pre-order stock was already sold out.

A Nongshim official stated, "Consumer requests to bring back Bokkeum Neoguri have continued even after its discontinuation, and we have confirmed high interest across various channels. Since this product has returned due to consumer demand, we hope it provides a delightful experience for those who have been waiting for Bokkeum Neoguri."

Meanwhile, Nongshim plans to launch a new product, 'Gambas Jjapagetti,' utilizing the winning recipe from the 'Jjapagetti Chef Competition' on the 27th.
