Minister of SMEs and Startups Lee So-young began a two-day visit to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and small businesses in the Gyeongsang region (Ulsan and Gyeongbuk) on October 30, starting with a visit to the University of Ulsan's Startup Club.

According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, this visit is part of the 'Into the Field for Two Days' initiative, aimed at gathering feedback from local businesses to inform policy decisions. This marks the second regional visit following one in the Chungcheong region.

On the first day, Lee met with student entrepreneurs at UNIST and visited a small manufacturing company specializing in AI data center cooling in Yeongcheon, as well as a regulation-free special zone for industrial hemp in Andong.

On the second day, she toured the local commercial district in Yeongju and attended the opening ceremony of the 'Korea Grand Festival' in Andong.

The 'Korea Grand Festival' runs from October 29 to November 15 and involves around 40,000 businesses, including large corporations and small businesses, offering various discounts and consumer benefits.

Previously, on October 15, Minister Lee visited semiconductor material, parts, and equipment companies in Cheonan, as well as global innovation zones in Daejeon and Osong, K-beauty companies in Sejong, and a support center for small business startups in Cheongju.

Concluding her two-day visit to the Gyeongsang region, Minister Lee stated, "The starting point for government policies on regional startups, manufacturing innovation, new industry regulations, and revitalizing small businesses is the voices of the field. I aim to use this visit as a foundation for regulatory improvements and policy feedback that the public and businesses can feel as tangible changes."
