Muan-gun to become tourism district, retirees' city

An area in Muan-gun, South Jeolla Province, will be transformed into a tourism district and a city for retirees, the government said.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Thursday, 39.3 square kilometers of land in Muan-gun have been designated as an area where development projects can be carried out.

Facilities to be built in the tourism zone include a seawater park, a health care park/resort, a marine sports center and a health zone, the ministry said.

In Cheonggye-myeon, a retirees' city will be built, it said.
