Akdong Musician scores all-kill in S. Korean song charts with new comeback song

SEOUL -- Brother-sister duo Akdong Musician has made a grand comeback by scoring an all-kill in South Korean song charts of major music services with "How can I love the heartbreak, you`re the one I love", the title song of the band's new album "Sailing", released on Wednesday.

Akdong Musician went on a hiatus of two years since September 2017 when Lee Chan-hyuk, the older brother, joined a marine unit. Lee Su-hyun, the younger sister, as active as an entertainer during the band's hiatus but did not release any albums.

As soon as "Sailing", including 10 songs, was released at 6:00 p.m. (0900 GMT) on Wednesday, the popularity of the album's title song skyrocketed to hit No. 1 spots in real-time song charts of Melon, Genie, Bugs and Soribada. Other nine songs are also positioned in the top 20 of song charts.

The music video for "How can I love the heartbreak, you`re the one I love", uploaded onto YouTube, has garnered 973,335 views in less than 16 hours.

Fans hailed the brother-sister duo's new work. Many of them praised the perfect quality of the title song. "I cried while listening to this song cause i could feel the heartbreak when i read the lyrics and I'm in that particular situation rn. Damn so painful.." said "I am skyura", a YouTube user. Another user "Nining Rohimah" said: "The most beautiful and heartbreaking song this year".
