SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics will showcase two types of next-generation foldable smartphones through an online event in August. The smartphones with flexible displays will be the latest versions of Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Z Flip released in 2020.
"Now more than ever, there is a need for flexible, versatile mobile devices that can keep up with the fast pace of our lives so we can maximize and enjoy every moment," Samsung said in an online invitation released through its news blog on July 21. The company said the online showcase event will be held on August 11.
Although the tech giant did not reveal which models would be showcased through the event, Samsung hinted at foldable smartphones through a teaser video. Previously, three-dimensional modeling images of Samsung's unreleased smartwatches were leaked online, hinting that new types of smart devices could also be showcased at the online event.
