The smart solution called "brid.zzz" records various sleep-related information such as consumers' sleeping posture, wake-up time and bedtime, and how much a user tosses and turns while sleeping. The solution also monitors the number of steps users take a day. Based on such data, brid.zzz provides a personalized sleep care solution. Anyone can receive data using a smartphone application.
The earphones create auditory illusions that enable consumers to fall into a deep sleep. The sleep care solution provides more than 80 sounds including binaural beats, lullaby songs and autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR). LG said the earphones designed to fit the shape of ears can be worn by users without difficulties as they are extremely light.
The solution will be commercialized in South Korea in the first half of 2023 after improving its quality. Government data showed that the number of people suffering from insomnia increased from 543,184 in 2016 to 113,207 in 2020. Insomnia is a sleep disorder that can trigger depression and other mental illnesses.
