SEOUL, June 27 (AJU PRESS) - LG Electronics unveiled its CLOi robot powered by Google's Gemini artificial intelligence model at the Google Cloud Summit Seoul on Thursday.

This marks the first integration of generative AI into the CLOi robot line.

The upgraded CLOi features enhanced communication abilities, capable of generating responses to unexpected questions and performing tasks like creating background images via voice commands. LG plans to launch the AI-equipped CLOi GuideBot later this year and update existing models wirelessly.

This development aims to expand the robot's capabilities beyond pre-programmed functions, enabling more natural interactions and complex task handling. The global AI robot market is projected to reach approximately $64.35 billion by 2030, growing at an average annual rate of 25 percent.

LG's collaboration with Google accelerates its AI robot ecosystem development, leveraging the company's accumulated robotics expertise with big tech AI platforms.

"Through the synergy of LG Electronics' advanced AI robot technology capabilities and big tech companies' AI platform technology, we will lead customer experience innovation in the future new business of robotics," Noh Kyu-chang, LG's robot business head, said.
