The Academy, which awards the Oscars, released a list of 487 new invitees including 71 Oscar nominees for this year. The Korean heartthrob was included in the list.
Once they accept, these invitees earn voting rights at next year's Oscars, the most prestigious film awards in the U.S.
Gang, renowned for his roles in films like "Broker" (2022) and "Peninsula" (2020), has been garnering global recognition. He has been cast in Disney+'s upcoming series "Polaris" scheduled for release sometime next year.
Also among the new invitees is German-born star Teo Yoo, known for his role in "Past Lives" (2023), alongside with his co-star, Korean-Canadian actress Greta Lee, and the film's director Celine Song.
