SEOUL, September 26 (AJP) - The Brazilian Embassy in Seoul held a reception Wednesday to celebrate 65 years of diplomatic relations with South Korea and Brazil's 202nd independence anniversary.

During the event at a hotel in central Seoul, Brazilian Ambassador Marcia Donner Abreu expressed gratitude for the continued support that has strengthened Brazil-Korea relations.

"Despite the geographical distance and having cultures and societies so strikingly different from each other, Brazil and Korea have forged in these six and a half decades a solid path of mutual achievements that include vibrant partnership in trade, investment, political dialogue and cooperation," Abreu said.

She also acknowledged Korea's active participation in various Group of 20 working groups and initiatives under Brazil's presidency in 2024.

Brazil was the first Latin American nation to establish diplomatic relations with Korea in 1959.
