According to industry watchers, the developer of the AI assistant Claude reportedly met with South Korean government officials recently to discuss its plans.
The development comes after Anthropic earlier told foreign media outlets including Reuters that it planned to open an office in southern Seoul.
In July last year, the San Francisco-based company established a local entity under the name of "Anthropic LLC," laying the groundwork for its entry into the South Korean market, and listed several Seoul-based job postings on its website.
Anthropic earlier opened an office in India in February this year, after establishing its presence in Japan in October last year.
