SEOUL, June 29 (AJP) - LG AI Research has obtained the ISO 27001 certification for its entire artificial intelligence operations, seeking to accelerate its push into highly regulated sectors, the company said on Monday.
The ISO 27001 is a leading international standard for information security management systems. The newly acquired certification covers the research center's full AI lifecycle, ranging from planning large language models and processing training data to deploying final solutions.
Last year, the LG unit secured the same certification for its enterprise AI agent, 'ChatEXAONE'. By expanding the security standard company-wide, LG AI Research aims to strengthen its presence in "expert AI" fields—such as the medical, financial, and public sectors—which require stringent data protection and reliability.
"We will build an expert AI ecosystem that anyone can safely adopt based on a systematic security infrastructure and responsible AI principles," said Lim Woo-hyung, head of LG AI Research.
