Hanwha Life is taking steps to discover prevention and relief solutions for patients with mild cognitive impairment and dementia, as well as their families.
On July 21, Hanwha Life announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seoul Metropolitan Dementia Center and the Social Solidarity Bank to promote the 'Hanwha Life WE CARE MEMORY+' competition at the 63 Building in Yeouido, Seoul.
This competition aims to find ideas that can prevent the worsening of mild cognitive impairment, which occurs between normal aging and dementia, and early-onset dementia, which affects individuals under 65, while also reducing the caregiving burden on families.
The competition will focus on areas such as digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), work and social experiences, community engagement, and programs. A total of 15 teams will be selected, including 10 teams in the idea track and 5 teams in the execution track.
The idea track will award a total of 15 million won, with an additional 20 million won in commercialization support for the top four teams. The five teams in the execution track will receive up to 30 million won each, along with opportunities for on-site verification.
The Seoul Metropolitan Dementia Center will participate from the evaluation stage to assess the practical applicability of the solutions and assist in their implementation in actual dementia care settings.
Dementia care centers in Seoul's autonomous districts, social enterprises, cooperatives, social ventures, non-profit organizations, and startup teams from universities and graduate schools are eligible to apply. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on August 14.
