Coupang Fulfillment Service (CFS) is providing free health check-ups, medical expenses, and cleaning and car wash costs to residents affected by the fire at its warehouse in Seongnam-dong, Incheon. The company will also offer free services from professional assessors to verify damages and plans to support factories and small businesses struggling due to vehicle restrictions.

CFS announced on July 24 that it will operate an 'Emergency Medical Support Center' at the first floor of the Shin-hyeon Elementary School auditorium from July 25 to August 7. Over 20 medical professionals, including doctors, traditional medicine practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, and psychological counselors from the Korean Central Medical Volunteer Corps, will participate.

The health check center will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. to accommodate working residents. They can receive basic tests, including respiratory assessments for symptoms like coughing and shortness of breath, as well as blood sugar and oxygen saturation measurements.

Stress counseling, nebulizer treatments, and prescriptions for over-the-counter medications will also be available. Residents who sought medical treatment or purchased medications due to the fire will receive support for their medical and prescription costs.

A separate damage reporting channel will be established. CFS will operate a 'Coupang Incheon Fire Damage Support Call Center' from July 27 to November 30. Residents can report fire-related damages, including medical expenses, prescription costs, cleaning fees, and car wash costs, every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., including weekends.

After verifying the reported damages, the company will decide on the support eligibility. For residents unfamiliar with the damage verification and compensation process, professional assessors will be available for free. Support will also extend to factories and small businesses affected by vehicle restrictions near the warehouse.

The fire occurred on the morning of July 18 at the Coupang warehouse in Seongnam-dong. The Incheon Fire Department reported that the fire was extinguished at 8:35 p.m. on July 22, approximately 109 hours and 40 minutes after it started.

CFS announced on July 22 that it would fully compensate sellers for inventory losses at the warehouse, including those in areas affected by smoke and dust due to the fire. The company plans to inform sellers of the compensation amounts and payment schedules by mid-August.

Previously, CFS distributed over 13,500 masks to students and staff at eight elementary schools near the warehouse. It also provided 400 sets of relief supplies to temporary shelters and deployed nurses, along with operating a shuttle bus for residents needing medical care.

CFS CEO Jeong Jong-cheol expressed sincere apologies to local residents for the inconvenience caused by the fire, stating, "We have prepared various recovery support measures, including health check-ups and financial assistance, to help residents regain their health and daily lives, and we will continue to provide necessary support to help the community stabilize as soon as possible."
