Marriott Bonvoy is expanding its hotel portfolio in Shanghai, introducing new hotels with long-stay residences and large rooms to cater to both business and leisure travelers.

The new openings include the Marriott Executive Apartments Shanghai Zhangjiang in Pudong Zhangjiang and the Sheraton Shanghai North Bund near the Huangpu River. Marriott Bonvoy is strengthening its presence in Shanghai by adding new brands to its lineup, following the recent launches of Renaissance, Marriott, and Courtyard hotels this year.

Set to open in the third quarter, the Marriott Executive Apartments Shanghai Zhangjiang will be located near the Pudong Zhangjiang Science City. This will be the first Marriott Executive Apartments brand in Shanghai, featuring 249 apartments and suites designed to provide a comfortable environment for long-stay guests, incorporating spaces for work, relaxation, and exercise, with design elements inspired by traditional Jiangnan wooden carvings.

In the fourth quarter, the Sheraton Shanghai North Bund will open with 471 rooms, offering views of the North Bund and the Lujiazui skyline. The hotel will feature an '&More by Sheraton' coffee bar, providing a lounge space for guests to enjoy coffee and cocktails.

Marriott Bonvoy's expansion in China is not limited to Shanghai. New hotels are also set to open in Hangzhou, including the Renaissance Hangzhou Qianjiang Century City Hotel, and in Xiamen, with the Xiamen Jimei Marriott Hotel and The Westin Xiamen Nanyang Hotel. Additional hotel openings are planned in Zhengzhou, Zhangjiajie, and Chengdu as the brand continues to grow in China.
