A joint response training exercise for a large-scale oil spill incident will take place in the Nakdong River area of Daegu's Dalseong County.

This training is linked to the 2026 Ulchi Exercise and simulates a scenario where an enemy drone attack damages the Seongju Bridge, causing a fuel truck to overturn and spill approximately 2,000 liters of diesel into the main stream of the Nakdong River.
The exercise will follow actual accident response procedures, starting from the dissemination of information after the incident, to rescue operations, initial response, containment of pollutant spread, and water quality analysis.
Initially, oil booms and absorbent pads will be used to prevent the spread of the spilled oil, followed by the establishment of containment lines to prepare for further spread. Sampling and analysis will also be conducted to assess the contamination situation.
Notably, agencies involved in accident response, including environmental authorities, local governments, fire departments, and military units, will participate simultaneously to review their roles and coordination systems on-site.
