Krafton hosted a 'Krafton Media Day' at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany, where it announced its vision for developing global franchises. The company aims to continuously discover and nurture new global franchises that will follow in the footsteps of PUBG through a variety of genres, collaborations with creative studios, and reinterpretations of existing intellectual properties (IPs).

The media day took place on August 26 at the Koelnmesse. Krafton introduced five new titles: No Low, Project Zeta, Age Twister, Tangle: Unbound, and PUBG: Deadnet, detailing their development backgrounds and core gameplay.

Krafton also outlined its publishing direction, which includes challenging existing genre conventions, collaborating with innovative creative studios, and reinterpreting established franchises to connect with global fans in new ways.

Jang Tae-seok, head of global publishing at Krafton and PUBG franchise lead, shared the company's publishing vision. He emphasized the goal of meeting more fans eager for new experiences by continuing to challenge itself alongside creative studios with diverse genres and identities.

The first session featured Klass Af Biyurin, CEO of Neon Giant, who introduced the immersive open-world first-person shooter RPG, No Low. Neon Giant aims to create a highly engaging open-world experience where players can craft their own gameplay and narratives rather than following predetermined paths.

Kim Nam-seok, CEO of Nirvana, presented Project Zeta, a multi-team tactical arena (MTA) game. Nirvana focuses on finding new thrills and excitement that MOBA fans desire, moving away from traditional genre formulas. The game features a structure where four teams of three players each compete for key objectives from the start.

Jordi Ministral and Alexis Corominas, co-founders and directors of Piccolo Studio, introduced Age Twister, a two-player cooperative adventure. The game follows a grandfather and granddaughter as they navigate adventures across four life stages—childhood, youth, adulthood, and old age—integrating generational differences into gameplay and narrative.

Gu In-young, CEO of Boundary, presented Tangle: Unbound, an Eastern dark fantasy action RPG. Tangle combines a world view centered on Buddhist concepts of reincarnation and karma with the aesthetics and imagination of East Asian culture from the 15th to 17th centuries. Boundary aims to create a new dark fantasy experience that incorporates Eastern mythology and cultural imagination into its world, combat, and narrative.

Dave Curd, creative director at PUBG Studio, concluded the sessions by introducing the new title in the PUBG franchise, PUBG: Deadnet. This title reinterprets the survival and competition experiences gained from PUBG: Battlegrounds, moving beyond traditional battle royale formats. Set in a new world inspired by the Pacific Northwest of the United States in the 1990s, titled 'Cascadia 1996,' it aims to expand the PUBG identity in new ways and explore the franchise's potential.

Krafton also showcased its new titles at Gamescom 2026, setting up a booth in Hall 9 of the Koelnmesse and providing a space for attendees to experience the games firsthand.

Among the new titles, Age Twister, developed by Piccolo Studio, has been nominated for the 'Most Wholesome' category at the Gamescom Awards 2026, which honors games that provide warm and positive experiences to users. The winners will be announced on August 28.
