LS Group is shifting its focus on artificial intelligence (AI) from technology exploration to tangible business results. The company aims to enhance productivity in manufacturing and integrate AI into its core products, such as cables and power solutions, to create new business opportunities and customer value.

On September 18, LS Group held its fifth 'LS Future Day' at the LS Tower in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, under the theme 'Beyond AI Exploration to Business Results.' More than 500 employees, including Koo Ja-eun, chairman of LS Group, and CEOs, CTOs, and CDOs from various subsidiaries, attended the event.

This year, the event showcased practical applications of AI in work and products. Nineteen projects were presented, including the 'AI-based Cable Manufacturing Meister' and a 'High-Reliability Power Protection Platform for AI Data Centers.' Presenters utilized AI coding to turn their ideas into minimum viable products (MVPs).

The AI agenda for LS Future Day is gradually becoming more defined. In 2024, the focus will be on work innovation using generative AI, while last year featured 20 future projects, including AI data center cables. This year, the theme shifted to 'business results,' emphasizing the commercialization of AI applications.

Since launching Future Day in 2022, LS has identified over 500 future business ideas in areas such as batteries, next-generation power solutions, and AI. Among these, LS Electric's 'Integrated Solar Power Service Platform' has been launched as a product and service, while seven other projects, including LS Mtron's customized small tractors for North America, are in the commercialization process.

Koo Ja-eun stated, "What was once science fiction yesterday is today's reality, and today's new technology will become commonplace tomorrow. We must not fear the pace of change but rather enjoy it more than anyone else at LS." He emphasized the need to dramatically enhance productivity in offices and manufacturing sites and to incorporate AI into products and services to create new value that customers can experience.
