Roh Tae-moon, Samsung Electronics' co-chief executive and head of the DX division, is expected to lead the meeting alongside other senior executives.
The company previously shared plans for the town hall during a closed management briefing for team leaders and other managerial staff, according to the sources.
Samsung has yet to publicly announce the date of the meeting.
The DX division oversees Samsung's smartphones, televisions, home appliances, network equipment and other finished products, while the Device Solutions division houses its memory, system LSI and foundry businesses.
Compensation has emerged as a major point of tension between employees in the two divisions after Samsung and its unions reached a wage agreement in May.
The deal introduced a special performance bonus for DS employees funded by 10.5 percent of the semiconductor division's business performance, while DX employees were set to receive substantially less under the compensation structure.
Samsung Electronics Labor Union Donghaeng, whose membership is concentrated in DX, has called for a companywide compensation pool that would reduce differences caused by the contrasting business cycles of semiconductors and consumer electronics.
The union has staged protests in Suwon and Seoul and began an open-ended protest near Chairman Lee Jae-yong's residence earlier this month.
The compensation dispute has also reshaped Samsung's labor landscape.
Samsung Electronics' largest union voted Sept. 19 to restrict its membership to DS employees, effectively separating semiconductor workers from employees in the company's consumer businesses ahead of future wage negotiations.
The gap comes as the two divisions face sharply different earnings conditions.
Samsung said its DS division posted another record quarterly result in the second quarter as strong demand drove record DRAM and NAND sales.
DX revenue increased from a year earlier on higher sales of premium and artificial intelligence-enabled products, but operating profit declined due to higher component costs, according to the company's July earnings release.
Samsung expects difficult conditions for DX to continue in the second half amid global uncertainty and rising component costs, while pursuing stronger product competitiveness and cost efficiency.
Artificial intelligence transformation is also expected to remain a major management issue for the division.
DX began allowing employees to use ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude at work in June as part of a broader AI Transformation, or AX, program aimed at changing internal work processes and accelerating decision-making.
Roh said at the time that the initiative was intended to improve execution across the organization and strengthen the division's business competitiveness.
The October meeting would give DX employees a direct forum with senior management after months of demands for broader communication over compensation, profitability and the division's longer-term strategy.
