Samsung SDI participated in the 'Data Centre World Asia (DCWA) 2026' exhibition, which opened on September 29 in Singapore, showcasing battery solutions and product lineups optimized for the artificial intelligence (AI) data center market.

DCWA is the largest exhibition in Asia covering the entire ecosystem from data center design and construction to operation and management, with over 600 companies participating this year.

At the event, Samsung SDI set up four exhibition zones: UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), BBU (Battery Backup Unit), SBB (Samsung Battery Box), and Cell Line-up, presenting a variety of battery products featuring differentiated technologies.

In the central UPS zone, Samsung SDI unveiled a UPS solution that met all standards in a recent indoor large-scale fire test (LSFT) conducted by UL Solutions, marking the world's first compliance with all criteria.

LSFT is a safety assessment that verifies the risks of battery explosion and thermal propagation, and Samsung SDI's UPS solution demonstrated industry-leading safety by meeting all standards.

The BBU zone featured high-output, high-capacity ternary batteries (21700) designed with a lower vent for enhanced safety, along with a cylindrical battery lineup optimized for emergency power supply in AI data centers.

Notably, Samsung SDI introduced its cylindrical lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery for the first time at this exhibition. This product enhances output and capacity while improving safety based on proprietary structural technology.

In the SBB zone, the rectangular LFP battery to be used in the integrated energy storage system (ESS) solution 'SBB 2.0' was displayed. This product applies Samsung SDI's unique rectangular form factor with LFP materials to further enhance performance and safety.

During the event, Samsung SDI will share updates on technology development with global clients and engage in marketing activities, as well as participate in a technology conference to present its battery solutions.

A Samsung SDI representative stated, "We will continue to present differentiated solutions that meet the diverse needs of data center customers based on battery technologies that enhance performance and safety."
