Roborock has announced the global debut of its flagship robot vacuum cleaner, the 'S10 MaxV Ultra Steam,' featuring high-temperature steam functionality, in South Korea. As competition intensifies in the domestic robot vacuum market with rivals like Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, the new product aims to maintain its leadership in the premium segment by enhancing hygiene and operational performance.
The S10 MaxV Ultra Steam will officially launch in South Korea on the 12th, with pre-orders available from today until the 11th.
The most significant change in the new model is the incorporation of high-temperature steam for mopping. It adds a steam-based hygiene management feature to the existing suction and mopping functions, boasting a maximum suction power of 36,000 Pa. The device also utilizes a vibrating mopping system called 'VibraRise 5.0.'
Operational performance has also been improved, allowing the vacuum to navigate obstacles up to 8.8 cm high. It can recognize over 300 objects to avoid collisions, and its body height has been reduced to 7.95 cm, enabling it to access under furniture.
Roborock has reported maintaining a market share of 50-60% in the domestic robot vacuum sector over the past year. Launching the new product first in South Korea underscores the country's significant market share.
Competition in the domestic robot vacuum market is becoming increasingly fierce. Chinese companies, including Roborock, have established a strong presence, while Samsung and LG have released premium new products this year. Additionally, Dreame has recently introduced high-temperature steam products, highlighting hygiene features as a new competitive factor.
During the pre-order period, Roborock will hold a lottery for customers to purchase the new product for just 100 won. Customers who complete their purchase will receive a limited edition 'Ilgwang Bulb X Roborock Edition' created in collaboration with the domestic lighting brand Ilgwang Bulb.
Roborock also offers a 'Roborock Care Service' that includes installation visits, guaranteed pet waste suction, and reinstallation for direct drainage products during moves. Discount coupons for Ilroom robot vacuums and lottery prizes are also available.
A representative from Roborock Korea stated, "We planned the pre-order event to reduce the time spent on cleaning and allow customers to enjoy various moments in their daily lives."
