KakaoBank has introduced a new check card that allows customers to select benefits based on their spending patterns.

The bank announced the launch of 'The Check Card' on October 14. This card enables customers to choose benefits tailored to their consumption habits. Users can select from three benefit packs: 0.5% cashback at domestic merchants, 5% cashback at value brands, or 5% cashback for year-end tax-related expenses. Benefits can be changed once daily.

There are no prior spending or minimum payment requirements. Customers can change their benefit pack through the KakaoBank app, and the new benefits will apply immediately to subsequent transactions. The cashback limit is capped at 1,000 won per day and 20,000 won per month. However, certain payment methods and rental stores within department stores and supermarkets are excluded from these benefits. The benefit packs will be seasonal, with the current configuration valid until June 30, 2027.

The card also includes a basic feature called 'K-Pass,' which offers a public transportation fee refund service. Customers aged 19 and older can receive government transportation fee refunds. If they use public transportation, such as buses and subways, for more than 50,000 won per month, they will receive an additional 4,000 won refund. To qualify for the additional cashback on public transportation, customers must meet a spending requirement of 300,000 won in the previous month.

A KakaoBank representative stated, "This card was designed to allow customers to select the benefits they need based on their daily spending. We will continue to offer necessary benefits and convenient services to our customers."
